    The fully funded Rhodes Scholarships for international students are open again for interested applicants to apply to study for free in the UK. The Rhodes scholarships will be accepting online applications from international students at different schools in Oxford from June 1.

    Why Rhodes Scholarships?     Financial Coverage of Rhodes Scholarships

    The fully funded Rhodes scholarships are meant for two years in the first instance, and it covers Oxford University (and College) tuition fees including annual stipends with the following added benefits for the students:

    • For this year’s academic year, the stipend associated with the Rhodes scholarships is £15,900 per year (£1,324 per month) from which students are allowed to pay for all other living expenses, including accommodation.
    • Also, note – the stipends attached to the Rhodes scholarships is not sufficient to cover partners or dependents.
    • The Rhodes Trust covers two economy class flights – to and from the United Kingdom – for the beginning and end of the scholarship duration in Oxford.
    • Following the selection for the Rhodes scholarship, the Rhodes Trust covers the tuition fee required for postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. The Trust contains the fee for a Tier 4 study visa and the associated International Surcharge (IHS), which allows international students access to the UK’s National Health Services.
    • On arrival at Oxford University, students receive a welcome allowance (£225). Students who are transitioning to the second course of study in Oxford will also receive an allowance to cover the fee for visa renewal and further application for IHS.

    Eligibility Criteria for Rhodes Scholarships

    All applicants for Rhodes scholarships are required to fulfil the citizenship and residency requirements of the Rhodes constituency for which they are applying with the below eligibility criteria in place:

    • Numerous research grants are also available to Rhodes scholarship candidates, on application, which enables students to, for example, attend conferences in and outside the UK or conduct additional fieldwork after their scholarships.
    • The Rhodes constituency webpages contain the Rhodes constituencies (and countries) required for the scholarship. Depending on the constituency that matches your country, the eligibility criteria are held in the information for Candidates document, which can be found by selecting the relevant constituency that matches your country in the drop-down list of countries on the “How to apply webpage”.
    • You must be an undergraduate degree holder with a minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4 or higher, or the equivalent grades in your country.
    • Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria for any of the listed constituencies in the application page may apply for inter-jurisdictional consideration or for other Global Rhodes Scholarships.
    • The majority of interested applicants may be able to apply for a Rhodes Scholarship through one constituency only. A very few applicants will meet the eligibility criteria for more than one constituency, though they are only allowed to apply to only one Rhodes scholarship in the year, so they are left with one option.
    • The age limits vary depending on the constituency but range between the age of 19 to 27 years.

    Required Documents for Rhodes Scholarships

    Interested applicants must submit the following set of documents with their application to apply for Rhodes Scholarships.

    Submit a motivation letter to showcase why you desire the Oxford University and want to apply for the fully funded Rhodes Scholarships

    • A Statement of Purpose (SOP) is required (300 0 500 words)
    • Two original Recommendation Letters by previous course supervisors or professors are required.
    • Letter of Intent for Scholarship should be submitted
    • Copies of all the required educational documents/transcripts/certificates are required.
    • A copy of a valid passport is required.
    • Proof of English language proficiency is required.
    • Resume for the scholarship
    • Study plan for the scholarship.

    Application Procedures for Rhodes Scholarships

    If you want to apply for the fully funded Rhodes Scholarships, you need to follow the following application procedures.

    • Applications for the Rhodes Scholarships are open from June 1st. Qualified candidates will be called up for an in-person interview. It is important that candidates read through the general information about the scholarships and then proceed to their constituency (country-specific) for further detailed application information.
    • All applicants must download the online application form for the Rhodes Scholarships and fill in the required details in each section
    • Applications are mandated to submit all the required documents while filling out the application form.
    • After submission of the application, selected applicants will be called for an interview and a further screening process will take place.

    The application for the fully funded Rhodes Scholarships at Oxford University is open on June 1 and closes on August 2.
