    The following are the eligibility criteria for Chevening Scholarships:

    • Applicant must be from a Chevening approved country.
    • Recipients of the scholarships must return to their home countries after the duration of the awards. They must serve in their home countries for a minimum of two years.
    • Applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree and all the prerequisites needed for them to get admission to study master’s programs in the UK.
    • Applicants must have at least two years of experience.
    • They must have applied to a minimum of three universities in the UK (ones that are supported by Chevening Scholarships) and must have received an acceptance letter from at least one of the universities.

    • Find and select your home country in the list of accepted Chevening partner countries.
    • Fill out the Chevening scholarship application form and submit all the necessary required documents.
    • Endeavour to submit the application before the application deadline for the scholarship. Keep in mind that it takes about eight months from the deadline of the application to review applicants that will be awarded the scholarship. Students are advised to complete their applications and spend some time reviewing them before the day of the deadline.

    Deadline of Chevening Scholarship Application Dates

    The following information highlights the timeline of opening, closing, and interview as well as the result announcement dates of the British Chevening Scholarships application.

    • Application for the Chevening Scholarships is open from July
    • The last date for application is 2nd November
    • From November to February, applications are reviewed against the eligibility criteria. The committee in charge of the Chevening Scholarship and the British embassy assess all the applications and shortlists qualified students for interviews.
    • From 28th February to 29th April, shortlisted candidates have conducted an interview.
    • In early June, the results of the scholarship is announced.
    • In September or October, the successful students will begin their studies in their chosen university and study for free in UK.
